Main Site-wide Infrastructure
University of Warwick Science Park
WarwickNet provides and manages the network infrastructure across the whole of the University of Warwick Science Park (UWSP) main site in Coventry. Working in partnership with UWSP, we have utilised existing ducting and fibre cabling where possible to allow over 7 different buildings to be brought on-line.
Services delivered to UWSP tenants range from low-cost ADSL equivalent Internet connectivity for into small start-up units to high performance leased lines and 100Mbps point-to-point connections for larger tenants. All services are delivered, monitored and protected through our central service management infrastructure. This also allows tenants to vary their service (for example increasing bandwidth or adding additional solutions such as VoIP) quickly and cost effectively.
Satellite Facility
Blythe Valley Innovation Centre
Having struggled for over five years with poor connectivity and nonexistent customer service, the Blythe Valley Innovation Centre came to WarwickNet to resolve their issues and get their tenants back on line. Working closely with the Centre Management Team, the land owners and the WarwickNet National Network Team a new service was successfully laid into the building.
Tenants at Blythe Valley now enjoy the full range of WarwickNet services. Most importantly, confidence in the Internet connectivity to the Centre has been restored and the expectations of tenants, old and new, are once again being met.
Managed Open-Access Wireless Provision
The Venture Centre, University of Warwick Science Park
Providing up-to-date, high quality facilities and services are key to the success of the University of Warwick Science Park (UWSP). This is particularly true in their main business incubation, The Venture Centre, located on their main site in Coventry.
Following a comprehensive refurbishment and extension of the communal meeting and networking spaces within the building a need for comprehensive wireless network coverage was identified. With the objective of providing connected, relaxed and informal spaces for tenants to do business WarwickNet helped UWSP by installing a fully managed open access WiFi network with coverage across the building.
The provision of manage access allows UWSP to track usage of the service and avoid abuse while ensuring that tenants and guests find it as easy as possible to get on-line outside the office.
In fact, the service has been so well received plans are currently being considered to roll it out across a number other shared occupancy buildings on the site.
