Weldon South Industrial Estate goes live

Weldon South Industrial Estate in Corby is set to benefit from faster broadband thanks to high-speed connectivity supplier WarwickNet.

Providing the estate's 30 organisations with business-grade broadband of up to 100 Mbit/s download speeds, and leased lines of up to 1 Gbit/s, WarwickNet is helping to more than double broadband capacity for the majority of businesses on site.

WarwickNet, which specialises in connecting out-of-town business parks, last year supplied superfast internet to Corbygate Business Park and Weldon North Industrial Estate, which were identified by the Northamptonshire Federation of Small Businesses as being poorly connected compared to others in the area.

Mark Hitchcock, senior business development manager at WarwickNet, said:

“We’ve had a fantastic response to the internet facilities we provided at Corbygate Business Park and Weldon North Industrial Estate so decided to extend our coverage to Weldon South. By building our own Point-of-Presence on site, we are able to reach 30 more businesses who have previously been left to suffer poor connections which have impacted on their productivity daily.”

Vectoring, a new technology which allows for faster and more reliable broadband, will also be introduced on Weldon South Industrial Estate.
