Gigabit Broadband Vouchers now available for businesses

The Government has launched a £2m scheme that offers vouchers worth between £500 to £3,000 to help businesses get a gigabit-capable service installed.

The pilot, which will run initially in Coventry and Warwickshire, Aberdeenshire, Bristol and West Yorkshire aims to extend the UK’s full fibre infrastructure.

As a registered supplier for the scheme, WarwickNet can provide businesses with free installation on its full fibre, gigabit-capable services, up to the value of £3,000. This is available with support from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, in partnership with Coventry City Council. Businesses have access to a range of pre-registered packages with download speeds starting from 100 Mbit/s download to 1 Gbit/s.

The gigabit scheme has been lauded as a great boost for businesses' connectivity across the nation...

When speaking of the pilot Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, Matt Hancock, UK Minister for Digital, said:

“A world-class digital communications network is essential to ensure the UK’s future competitiveness in the global market and its ability to attract investment. Faster and more reliable connections are transforming the way we live and work, and better broadband supports businesses to grow and become more productive.

These voucher pilots, alongside a range of other actions, are testament to Government’s ambition for full fibre infrastructure across the UK to underpin our digital economy.”

WarwickNet founder Ben King, said:

“The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme is an excellent initiative and one we’re very happy to be part of. Not only will it make internet access faster and increase productivity, it will help businesses be better equipped for the future.

We were involved with the SuperConnected Cities voucher scheme in 2014, when more than 100 customers benefitted from our connection, and I’m sure this pilot will be just as successful in leading our region, and the rest of the UK, into the next generation of broadband. I’d urge businesses to take advantage of the offer.”
